In 1909, 118 acres (48 ha) of the land was sold to Felix Isman of Philadelphia for $350,000. After its initial acquisition, the company was unable to secure enough funding to further develop the area. They intended to name the streets after those on the Lower East Side, where there was already a large Jewish population. The Utopia Land Company intended to build a cooperative community for Jewish families interested in moving away from the Lower East Side of Manhattan. ![]() ![]() If you are interested in weight loss and healthy, non-faddist eating, the NS plan may be for you - if you want to get an idea of what it means and why it works, this book is an excellent resource - with a lot more information than the NS official web site offers.Nourish Move Love is a channel I recently discovered on Youtube which is run by Lindsey, a personal trainer and fitness instructor. I am happy to say, all are doing well with it. Seeing my results, my wife, my sister, and some of our friends have started the program. I, myself, am on the way to that: I have lost an average of more than 3 pounds a week for 7 weeks. This is a total plan, and the author (and company) want you to succeed, and become a walking ad for it. While the emphasis is on the diet, the other important parts of the plan - the mental/emotional/spiritual part and the physical/exercise part - receive a proportionate amount of coverage, which I really liked. The book is not hype-free, but, as it is, after all, in part an ad for the Nutrisystem company, I found that a lot of restraint had been used. The pros and cons of both choices (or a blend of the two, which can easily be done), are given, after the reasons for taking on the plan are explained. There are 75 recipes that provide a good start on doing the plan without buying the Nutrisystem product. The principals are well-explained, as is the underlying science and anecdotal evidence. It is written in plain language, and with no hard-to-understand medical or chemical jargon. The important thing is that the book clearly explained what I was doing, why I was doing it, and why it works. After reading the book I would have done NS anyway. I did this backwards, started NutriSystems first, then bought the book. We suggest you test your proposed fittings with the Dimmer Extension before purchasing them for the project. However as inrush varies hugely between products it is a good idea to check with the manufacturer what the potential peak load could be with their product.Īs the circuitry inside a mains 230V dimmable LED will effect the dimming performance and this varies hugely between manufacturer and even within batches of the same manufacturer. As such a 400W channel should not have more than 200W of LEDs being controlled by it. When specifying LEDs for 230V dimming we suggest that you back-rate the maximum load by 50%, this is to account for heating and potential inrush current. Alternatively you can contact us for more technical data if required. If you are unsure at any point when wiring up any of our devices, please contact a suitably qualified electrician. The RGBW Dimmer Tree, Motion Sensor Tree and Touch/Touch Pure Tree all simply need a Tree connection and a power supply as per the below diagram. The topology of Tree allows you to run almost any network except a complete loop and save up to 80% on cabling over a basic STAR wiring layout, see below image for an example. These two devices require a Tree connection and a 24VDC power supply that is provided on a CAT7 cable. Wiring for the Motion Sensor Tree and Touch/Touch Pure Tree couldn’t be simpler. As such is is not possible to run multiple dimmer channels with a common neutral.įor technical documentation on the Dimmer Extension including loadings please go to the documentation page for the dimmer. Please note that each dimmer channel (as per below diagram) needs the needs to have the neutral connected from the light circuit as well as a feed in. If there are two circuits of 6 lights in the kitchen and each group of 6 is being controlled separately each group would require it’s own T&E. Then the cable we suggest using is a Twin & Earth out on a radial to each circuit/group of lights you wish to control together. The Dimmer Extension along with other Extensions and the Miniserver would be mounted centrally in the panel with the distribution board. When doing 230V dimming we use a technology called phase dimming and the product required to do this is the Dimmer Extension. If not being lead into 230V dimming by a product (light fitting) limitation we would suggest looking into 24V dimming as this is a much more cost effective option better performance, more here. If we are looking to dim these lights then we will need to look at hardware specific to the task. When looking to utilise a current light fittings in a project often these are 230V fittings. ![]() ![]() ![]() When you test important user flows with accessibility features turned on, you gain an appreciation for the challenges of interacting with a device in different ways. While it's true that the game feels somewhat 'barebones', this focused design comes with some benefits. It's the year of Star Wars so it should be no surprise that hype around this title has been immense - but many reviewers have found the game lacking in content and depth next to Battlefield. Will the animation be a module that is repeated across multiple parts of your application? Is it only going to be used for a page loader initially? Does it need to scale at all? Keeping this in mind can help determine the method in which an animation should be scaled and keep you from wasting effort. Know the environments in which it will be used Sizing animations relative to the parent elements helps prevent that from happening, as does the following point: 2. Those times have included making mistakes like using absolute units (like px), only viewing it in one screen size, using responsive units but failing to check extreme dimensions, and a couple other occasions where I had to go back and completely refactor my approach. ![]() There have been times where I’ve finished polishing an animation exactly the way I want only to realize that it only works for that particular screen size. Even so, it might be wise to size each piece based on a container in case we change our minds later. The only exception is if we know that in every circumstance the element is going to be positioned and sized relative to the viewport. In responsive scaling this is simple enough, but in adaptive scaling we have to look to element (container) queries. Whether we’re using responsive or adaptive scaling (see below), we should try to size animations based on the container’s sizing. In this post, we’ll cover how to help keep our responsive animations sized the way we want them.īefore we get into specific techniques, there are a couple basic guidelines we want to keep in mind: Guidelines for scaling responsive animations 1. A big portion of that difficulty can be trying to get specific components, particularly ones that have pieces that have to stay a certain size (like animations), to look good regardless of the screen size.
